The week before nationals — a twirler's checklist
Sleep, fuel, run-throughs, mental reps. A clear plan for the most important seven days of your season.
The week before a big competition is rarely won by adding new tricks. It's won by sharpening the ones you already trust.
Cut new material seven days out. Anything you can't perform at 95% reliability stays in the practice room.
Two full run-throughs a day, separated by at least four hours. Treat each one like the real thing — full costume on the last day.
Sleep is the secret weapon. Aim for nine hours on the two nights before the floor. Hydrate every morning. Eat what you know.
Then trust the work. You're not learning anymore — you're performing.
