Experience

From the floor to the forefront.

Sara started twirling at age five. By her teens she was competing at the national level, collecting titles and learning what it truly takes to perform under pressure.

After her competitive career, she turned to coaching children of friends, then across the city, and eventually online. Along the way she became a certified judge, giving her a rare dual perspective: she knows what coaches teach, and she knows exactly what judges look for.

Today she works with beginner twirlers who have never held a baton, competitive athletes preparing for nationals, and brand-new coaches who need a roadmap for running their first class.

What Sara does

  • Private online lessons

1:1 Zoom coaching for beginners, competitors, and coaches who want focused feedback.

  • Course creation

Self-paced video courses that break down technique step by step - from first spin to advanced routines.

  • Judging & evaluation

Certified judging experience means every section and routine is shaped by what scores on the floor.

  • Coach mentorship

Guiding new instructors through class planning, skill progressions, and building confidence in their teaching.

Teaching philosophy

“Every twirler deserves a coach who believes in them before they believe in themselves. Technique matters, but confidence is what turns practice into performance.”

— Sara Rudin

Mission

Grow the sport, one twirler at a time.

Baton twirling is one of the most captivating performing arts in the world, yet it remains frustratingly hard to access. Quality coaching is scattered across regions. Learning resources are fragmented. And too many talented kids never discover the sport simply because there is no clear path in.

Sara's mission is to change that. By creating affordable online courses, accessible private lessons, and free resources for parents and coaches, she is building a bridge between curiosity and mastery.

The goal is simple: more twirlers, better twirlers, and a stronger community that celebrates the art and athleticism of baton together.

Make coaching accessible

Not every town has a baton studio. Online courses and virtual lessons bring expert training to living rooms everywhere.

Empower new coaches

Great programs start with confident instructors. Sara provides the tools, lesson plans, and mentorship coaches need to succeed.

Build a welcoming community

From beginner checklists to coaching guides, every resource is designed to make twirling feel approachable, joyful, and inclusive.

Why this exists

Why Baton Twirling 101?

The idea for Baton Twirling 101 came from Sara's son, who had a speech delay as a child. Sara had created a training video for a student, and her son was able to recreate all the tricks just by watching the video. That's when she knew she needed to share her gift virtually.

Knowing many twirlers do not have access to baton twirling coaches, this was a great way to bridge that gap between passion and access; that's what Baton Twirling 101 was built to close. Sara wanted to create the resource she wished she had as a young athlete: clear, encouraging, expert instruction available anywhere, anytime.

Whether you are a beginner picking up your first baton, a competitor fine-tuning a routine, a parent supporting your child, or a coach building a program from scratch — this is your home base.
