Coaching the shy twirler

How to draw out a quiet student without pushing them onto a stage they're not ready for.

Shy twirlers often have the best technique in the room. They're watching, listening, and practicing in their head when nobody's looking.

Don't make performance the proof of progress. A clean run-through in a quiet gym counts. So does a video sent only to you.

Small audiences first: one parent, then two friends, then a class. Confidence grows in layers, not leaps.

Praise specifically. 'Your release was vertical today' lands harder than 'great job' — and tells them you actually saw it.
